Is HeatPumpGrant.ie a contractor?

No. HeatPumpGrant.ie is an information website that connects Irish homeowners with SEAI-registered heat pump installers and technicians. When you submit a quote request, your details are forwarded directly to approved installers or technicians, who survey your home, quote directly, and carry out the work.

Is the service actually free?

Yes. There’s no charge to homeowners for submitting a quote request or receiving contact from an installer or technician.

How do you choose which installers to work with?

Every installer or technician must be SEAI-registered, and where relevant, also registered with RGII or Safe Electric Ireland. This is what makes homeowners eligible for SEAI grants on completed work.

Am I obligated to use an installer who contacts me?

No. Compare quotes from as many or as few installers as you like, and decide freely. There’s no obligation to proceed with anyone.

Do you cover my area?

HeatPumpGrant.ie covers all 26 counties. If there isn’t yet a registered installer available for your specific area, we’ll let you know rather than leave you waiting.

Grants

What SEAI grant is available for a heat pump?

Up to €12,500 for air-to-water and ground source systems, or up to €7,500 for air-to-air, depending on dwelling type. See our full grant breakdown for how it’s made up.

Can I get a grant if I’ve already had a heat pump installed?

Replacing a heat pump that was already grant-aided is capped at €6,500 (€4,500 for apartments), with no renewable heat bonus or central heating component.

What’s the biggest mistake people make with grant applications?

Starting work before receiving SEAI’s written approval. This disqualifies the grant with no exceptions.
